No fewer than 3 people died today,
Thursday, August, 18, 2016 and more than 50 injured in a car bomb attack on a
Turkish police station in the city of Elazig in eastern Turkey.
Meanwhile, the blast came 24 hours after a separate
car bomb killed three people and injured 40 in the province of Van, near the
Iranian border.
In
Wednesday's attack, a car bomb exploded outside a police
station in Van, killing three people, including one officer, according to a
senior Turkish official.
At least 73 others were injured,
including 20 officers, the official said as Kurdish militants were suspected of
carrying out the attack, according to state news agency Anadolu.

Furthermore, in today's attack three
police officers died and more 50 people were injured, including civilians.
Though no one has claimed
responsibility for today's attack, however, the Dogan news agency says that
Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants were responsible for the car bomb.
Howbeit, investigation has shown
that clashes between the Kurdistan workers party, or PKK, and Turkish forces
have been ongoing since a peace process crumbled in 2015.
It would be recalled that the PKK
were responsible for a separate bomb attack in Ankara in February 2016, which
targeted off-duty police officers.
