Team Nigeria has won its first Gold medal from the ongoing 2016 Paralympics in Rio. Roland Ezuruike won the 54Kg competition. He set three Paralympics records to win top prize.
Also, Latifat Tijani clinched Silver in the women’s – 45kg Power lifting event. She lifted 106kg in the 45kg category to place second behind China’s Dandan Hu.
Great Britain’s Zoe Newson finished behind Tijani to win bronze.
